a) Principles and safe flying practices for effecting takeoffs and landings, climbout and
approach flight plans.
b) Takeoffs and landings at short fields (including operations over obstacles).
c) Takeoffs and landings under conditions of high operational altitudes.
4) Cross-Country Flying (3 Hours Solo Minimum)
a) Principles and safe flying practices, for preflight preparations, operations within airplaneís
operational limitations, use ATO facilities, and compliance with this chapter.
b) Loading of airplane.
c) Weather information.
d) Facilities to be used.
e) Operations at strange aerodromes of varying size, altitudes, traffic conditions, and
other similar conditions.
5) Radio
a) Airport traffic control procedures.
b) Preparing, filling, and closing flight plans.
c) Use of radio aids to navigation.
B. MINIMUM TOTAL COURSE TIMES
1) Flight time, 40 hours.
2) Ground instruction time, 8 hours, 45 minutes.
C. PROGRESS CHECKS
1) Solo.
2) Basic flying phase.
3) Navigational and critical situations phase.
4) Final (for graduation certificate).
