The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services found that an estimated 872,000
children were victims of abuse and neglect in 2004.
The data shows that in 2004, about 11.9 of every 1,000 children were victims of abuse and
neglect.
According to the HHS report, about 1,500 children died in 2004 as a result of abuse.
Approximately 500 of those deaths were attributed to neglect, the report states.

• 5 Amish girls killed by gunman
• Diamond Brownridge (5 yrs old) died after falling into a coma following
procedures at dental office.
• 7 month fetus cut from mother’s womb found dead; 3 other children,
1, 2 and 7 rys old killed by same woman and found in washing machine]
• Riley Fox (3 yrs old) - abducted, sexually assaulted, & thrown in river
• Father stabbed girl in neck & drowned in toilet – His excuse was that she
had the devil in her. Autopsy later revealed that he had sexually assaulted
• Father stabbed his little girl & her friend to death while they were out riding
their bikes – His excuse was he put her on punishment but her mom let her
out
• Ryan Harris (11yrs old) – sexually assaulted & murdered by man – At first
to little boys were falsely excused by police
• Laree Slack (12yrs old) – half naked, gagged & bounded to a metal futon
frame was beaten death by father with a black electrical cable – he became
Incensed after the children were not able to find a lost credit card. 2 of the
children testified that their father routinely engaged in group beatings of
the six children

RESCUE – To free from confinement or danger: save.
SAVE – To rescue from harm, danger, or loss. To keep in a safe state: safeguard. To
prevent the waste or loss of: conserve. To keep for future use: store. To deliver from sin:
redeem.
Ps 72: 4 He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall
break in pieces the oppressor.
Ps 106:10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the
hand of the enemy. 11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.
12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.
Gen. 4:10 – The BLOOD of the children is crying out from the ground.
Prov. 6:16,17 – Hands that shed INNOCENT BLOOD is abomination to the Lord
Ezek. 9:4 – Set mark on the foreheads of men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations done
in the midst thereof.
I Kings 11:7 – Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
Jer. 32:35 – Caused their sons and daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech.

We must “Shamar” the children. We must preserve them, guard them, protect them from
the enemy. We can’t do it in our own strength or with our own power, but through God’s
strength, power, wisdom and strategies we will be able to affect change in the earth with
regard to the children.
