After the purchase price allocations, preliminary goodwill in the amount of € 22.8 million<br />

remained. For tax purposes, it is expected that an amount of €15.2 million will be<br />

deductible.<br />

Starting from the date of acquisition, the revenues for the current financial year of the<br />

acquired companies, amounting to €19.8 million, have been included in the revenue of<br />

the <strong>Heraeus</strong> Group; the companies negative contribution to earnings totaled € 2.8 million.<br />

The effects of the acquisitions on revenue in case of hypothetical inclusion as of the<br />

beginning of the year total € 38.2 million, the effect on annual income amounts to<br />

€ – 3.4 million.<br />

Solar pastes business of Ferro Corporation, USA Asset deal – Feb. 06, 2013<br />

Its purchase of the Fusion UV Systems Group headquartered in Gaithersburg, USA, made<br />

<strong>Heraeus</strong> Noblelight the leading provider of industrial ultraviolet process solutions. The<br />

extended technology portfolio now covers all known processes for UV light production, for<br />

example microwave-excited UV lamps and UV-LED (light diode) modules. As a result of<br />

the transaction, <strong>Heraeus</strong> Noblelight will be able to meet the increased customer demand<br />

for integrated process solutions from one supplier and is well positioned for the development<br />

of the market for special lighting solutions, as well as for the replacement of traditional<br />

gas discharge lamps with LEDs.<br />
