Asset/ Share deal – / 100.0 On January 31, 2012, the precious metals business group acquired the special chemicals company Daychem Laboratories, Inc., USA. The acquisition expands Heraeus’s product portfolio in the field of organic special chemicals for the semiconductor and display industries. The acquisition price for the Daychem Laboratories Inc. business acquired includes a purchase price component of € 3.8 million, the total amount for which depends on the development of economic key figures over the next nine years. The dental products business group acquired Biomain AB, Sweden on March 1, 2012. Biomain AB is the Scandinavian market leader in the field of custom CAD/CAM-produced implant prosthetics. The share deal will strengthen market presence in Northern Europe and expand the patent and product portfolio in digital implant prosthetics. On September 7, 2012 (USA, Mexico, Canada) or rather December 12, 2012 (China), the sensors business group took over Midwest Instrument Company of Hartland, Wisconsin (USA). The takeover of the company will expand the product portfolio in the area of measuring, monitoring, and controlling metal smelting processes. 30 of Midwest Instrument Company, a sum of € 3.5 million was paid into a trust account. This amount will be paid out to the seller after five years, if the agreed targets are achieved. The purchase price for the acquisition was paid from the available liquid resources.
