SMB Print Select whether or not the SMB printing (Windows printing) service is used.<br />

NetBIOS Name * Type the NetBIOS name in uppercase letters (up to 15 characters, including only -).<br />

Print Service Name * Type the name of the print service in uppercase letters (up to 12 characters, excluding<br />

/ and \).<br />

Workgroup * Type the name of the workgroup in uppercase letters (up to 15 characters, excluding<br />

“ \ ; : , * < > | + = and ?).<br />

Reminder<br />

In order to apply the changes to the settings for "NetBIOS Name", "Print Service Name", and<br />

"Workgroup", restart the machine (turn it off, then on again).<br />

When the machine is turned off, then on again, turn the machine off with the [Power] (auxiliary power)<br />

key before turning off the main power switch. In addition, wait at least 10 seconds to turn the machine<br />

on after turning it off; otherwise, the machine may not operate correctly.<br />

SMB Setting - Direct Hosting Setting<br />

Specify the settings for direct hosting services.<br />

Direct Hosting Setting To use the direct hosting service, select "ON".<br />

To communicate with the destination using an IPv6 address, select "ON".<br />

Reminder<br />

To specify a destination computer using the computer name in the IPv6 environment, the Direct Hosting<br />

setting must be enabled. To enable the Direct Hosting setting, prepare a DNS server and be sure to<br />

specify the DNS settings of this machine correctly. For details on specifying the DNS server settings,<br />

refer to "TCP/IP Setting - TCP/IP Setting" on page 3-53.<br />
