proved <strong>in</strong> accordance with the Camphill design <strong>in</strong> England. Both grey<br />
and black water is organically treated, filtered vertically by gravity. 6<br />
houses have compost toilets.<br />
Resources: Recycl<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> resources takes place on a regional basis: Glass<br />
and bottles, paper, clothes, batteries, metal and certa<strong>in</strong> plastics. Organic<br />
material is given to the animals (food waste) or composted.<br />
Energy: In most <strong>of</strong> our house, active solar systems <strong>in</strong>clude various<br />
k<strong>in</strong>ds <strong>of</strong> collectors for water heat<strong>in</strong>g or perhaps heat storage under the<br />
floor. Passive systems let heavy walls and floors absorb solar heat. Several<br />
houses have F<strong>in</strong>nish mass stoves made <strong>of</strong> 2-4 tons <strong>of</strong> bricks. In<br />
1994, Halsnass W<strong>in</strong>dmill Co erected a 450 kW m w<strong>in</strong>dmill on our land.<br />
Transport: From Dyssekilde station, next to EV, the local railway runs<br />
to Hundested and to Hiller0d. The trip from Copenhagen to Torup lasts<br />
80 m<strong>in</strong>.<br />
Guided tours: From May until October there are guided tours on Saturdays<br />
at 3 pm (<strong>in</strong> w<strong>in</strong>ter only <strong>in</strong> even weeks).The fee is 30 Dkr per adult<br />
and the tour takes 1-2 hours. Group tours (max 25) at other times are<br />
arranged at 600 Dkr. The <strong>of</strong>fice is open on weekdays from 10 am to 2<br />
pm.. Occasionally the cafe is open on Saturdays from 2 pm to 5 pm.<br />
Visitors may jo<strong>in</strong> the common vegetarian even<strong>in</strong>g meals at a reasonable<br />
price. (Please call <strong>in</strong> advance dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong>fice hours.) A camp site,<br />
where visitors can stay one or two nights at 20 Dkr per adult, two big<br />
tipies, compost toilets, solar showers, fire places and a splendid view<br />
are available. Courses are held frequently <strong>in</strong> African drums, tai chi,<br />
yoga, dome build<strong>in</strong>g, agriculture, etc.<br />
