There is a summer camp each year where visitors from the West, mostly<br />
Scand<strong>in</strong>avia and other Russian regions, come to help Rysovians with<br />
construction work. The tents and cater<strong>in</strong>g facilities are Russian army<br />
surplus and are used outside <strong>of</strong> the summer camp season as tempoarary<br />
dwell<strong>in</strong>gs for helpers, who live <strong>in</strong> cities normally, to participate <strong>in</strong><br />
build<strong>in</strong>g this community. There are some complications with projects<br />
<strong>of</strong> this nature, communication be<strong>in</strong>g the most obvious, usually done<br />
through people travell<strong>in</strong>g to and from the St. Petersburg <strong>Eco</strong>-village<br />
Information <strong>of</strong>fice, which was the communication centre and one <strong>of</strong><br />
GEN's first network nodes <strong>in</strong> Eastern <strong>Europe</strong> until June 1997.<br />
