Datuk Chairman commented that <strong>the</strong> rental is based on <strong>the</strong><br />

percentage <strong>of</strong> sales and late payment <strong>in</strong>terest on outstand<strong>in</strong>g<br />

rental shall be charged by <strong>the</strong> Landlord accord<strong>in</strong>g to<br />

Agreement. The Board recorded that <strong>the</strong> Company shall be<br />

putt<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> sublease at risk should <strong>the</strong> Company delay payment<br />

<strong>of</strong> rental after <strong>the</strong> Ch<strong>in</strong>ese New Year 2004 as <strong>the</strong> outstand<strong>in</strong>g<br />

rental by <strong>the</strong>n would be for 8 months equivalent to<br />

approximately RM1.6 million.<br />

Datuk Chairman expressed his concern over when <strong>the</strong> related<br />

companies would settle <strong>the</strong> long outstand<strong>in</strong>g amount due to <strong>the</strong><br />

Company.<br />

Ms Kat Yong remarked that it rema<strong>in</strong>s a bus<strong>in</strong>ess decision<br />

made even though merchandise bought from Taiwan were not<br />

sellable. Therefore, respective stores would have to absorb<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir respective portion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> costs. However, she felt that <strong>the</strong><br />

Company should absorb <strong>the</strong> salaries <strong>of</strong> Mr. Robert Tan who<br />

was <strong>the</strong>n employed under <strong>the</strong> Advertis<strong>in</strong>g and Promotions<br />

Department <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Company.<br />

Mr. Chou requested that <strong>the</strong> Management write to <strong>the</strong><br />

respective related companies for payment or else to charge<br />

<strong>in</strong>terest on <strong>the</strong> outstand<strong>in</strong>g amount.<br />

Tan Sri Lau requested that a consolidated report on <strong>the</strong> amount<br />

due from <strong>the</strong> related companies be presented to <strong>the</strong> Board. He<br />

<strong>the</strong>n proposed that NKC to decide ei<strong>the</strong>r -<br />

(i) to <strong>of</strong>f set <strong>the</strong> amount due from <strong>the</strong> related companies<br />

aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>the</strong> outstand<strong>in</strong>g amount due to NKC; or<br />

(ii) to repay <strong>the</strong> Company.<br />
