Remove exposed or contaminated material. Remove product with vegetal oil<br />

(coking oil). Wash contaminated skin with plenty water. Do not wash<br />

contaminated skin with thinner or solvent. Seek medical attention if any skin<br />

irritation or adverse reaction or other symptoms occurs.<br />

In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at last 15<br />

minutes. Remove contact lens, if any. Victim must see k immediate medical<br />

attention. Take copy of label and <strong>MSDS</strong> to health professional with victim, if<br />

After ingestion: Do not induce vomit. Call a doctor immediately .<br />

Brief description o f the main symptoms and effects :<br />

Headaches, dizziness, fat igue, and in extreme cases, uncon sciousness.<br />

Notes to the doctor :<br />

Make symptomatic treatment . Do not induce vomiting . The gastric-cleaning is indicate when the pacient intromit<br />

a big quantity, m ore than 5 ml of the substance in the pure form . The toxic potencial of quantity intromited must<br />

be valued according to the risk of aspiration of the gastric -cleaning. The ativate coal in solution must be useful.<br />

However, in same cases the coal induce vomi ting.<br />

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES<br />

Specific Risks:<br />

The fine particles dispense will take fo rm to the explosive mixtures in the air . In case of fire or dense black<br />

fumes, the harmful decomposition products inhalation can provoke health problems.<br />

Especial Methods :<br />

Refresh closed receptacles arou nd the fire. Evacuate the area and combat the fir e at a safe distance. Use dikes<br />

to contain the water used in the combat and eliminate it according to the local legislation. Use water under fog<br />

form to cool the recipients exposed to the fire. In case of intense fire in stor age area, use rubber hoses hand led<br />

at distance.<br />

Safe Handling Information :<br />

Remove contaminated diking mater ial with a vacuum-truck and transfer it to an<br />

emergency tank. Eart h all used equipment. Maintain p roduct in closed emergency<br />

containers prope rly labeled for later recovery or disposal.<br />

Incinerate all contamin ated material in authorized plant. Do not pour the product into<br />

sewers. The final disposal of this material should be followed -up by disposal experts<br />

and made in accordance with the environmental regulations.<br />

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE<br />

The use of face mask with OV filter (Org anic Vapors) is recommended . Use<br />

appropriate eye protect ion in case of eventual chemical splash eye contact exists.<br />

Wear rubber gloves to avoid direct conta ct of the product with the skin.<br />

Adequate local exhausting ventilation should be provided t o keep vapor<br />

concentration below explosive limits. All conductive parts of the system in contact<br />

with the product shall be grou nded electrically. Do not smoke in the working area.<br />

Handling of the product respecting the rules of security and industrial hygiene .<br />

Emergency shower and eyes washer must be installed in areas of use and<br />

storage.<br />

§ Prevent contact with the skin, mucosa, eyes and vapor inhalation;<br />

§ Do not reuse the packing;<br />

§ Do not smoke, eat or drink in the storage area.<br />

§ Wash the hands after handling.<br />

STORAGE<br />

Technical appropriate measures :<br />

The electrical installation must meet the requirements of the stand ards NEC (National Electrical Code) or IEC<br />

(Internationa l Electrical Commission) and/or ABNT (Brazilian Association of Techni cal Standards). The floor of<br />

the storage area must be waterproof, not combustible and shall be provided with outfall ditches for dr aining the<br />

product to damming tanks. Stora ge tanks must be surrounded by damming tanks and fitted with draining devices<br />

to enable fast drainage in case of leakage .<br />

Only well trained people should ha ndle chemical products. The EPI’s should be Approval Certified. When<br />

chemical product is handled, follow strictly all recommended operational and safety instructions inform ed by the<br />

manufacturer of the chemical prod uct. Never reuse empty containers of chemical products for storing foods.<br />

Monitor the people exposure in area where chemical products are handled. Adopted monitoring procedure shall<br />

be in accordance with PPRA (Environmental Risk Prevention Program) from NR -9.<br />

Prolonged contact of the product with the skin removes the oil from the skin and may<br />

cause skin fissures, dryness , dermatitis and eczema. The most common disturbs<br />

relating to Toluene are fat igue, headaches, irritability, dizziness, fat igue, weakness,<br />

unconsciousness, som nolence, humming, humor and equilibrium disturbs, nauseas and<br />

appetite loss. Also the respiratory system may be affected by chronic bronchitis and<br />

reduction of the breathing volume. The product may also cause infertility , fetal<br />

abnormalities, and renal pathologies in kids whose mothers have been exposed to t he<br />

product. Exposure of pregnant women to concentrations above the tolerance limits may<br />

cause miscarriage. The product may also cause anemia and affect the central<br />

nervoussystem a nd the peripheral nervous system , causing vascular and nervous<br />

injuries,headaches, irritability, visual disturbs, uncons ciousness, wild, convulsion, lost<br />
