SABAPATHIPILLAI DURAI RAJA SINGAM.- Born in<br />

Port Weld and educated in Kuala Lumpur. Joined the Malayan<br />

Educational Service in 1925 and has served in Pahang and Selangor.<br />

Now retired. Author of Gandhiji, the Ever-Smiling Mahatma;<br />

Homage to Ananda Coomaraswamy ; Malayan Place Names;<br />

Malayan Tit Bits; Insignia Malayana; Munshi Abdullah to Anak<br />

Singapura; India and Malaya Through the Ages: A Malayan<br />

Heritage; and other Malayana. Lives in Kuala Lumpur where<br />

he continues to write various articles of Malayan interest and<br />

broadcasts over Radio Malaya.<br />

ALEX SOARS.- Sports writer of considerable experience in<br />

India and Malaya.<br />

HAJI <strong>ABDUL</strong> MUBIN SHEPPARD. P.P.T, C.M.G., M.BE<br />

Obtained an Honours Degree in History at Cambridge University<br />

before entering the Malayan Civil Service by a Competitive<br />

Examination in January 1928. He was the first Director<br />

of Public Relations in 1946, the founder of the Arts Council,<br />

the First Chairman of the National Art Gallery and is currently<br />

the Director of Museums. He is the author of: The Adventures<br />

of Hang Tuah, Historic Malaya, History of Trengganu,<br />

Malay Courtesy, The Magic Kite and other Ma'yong Stories,<br />

and many other articles on Malay Culture.<br />

FRANK SULLIVAN: Press Secretary, Prime Minister's<br />

Department for the past five years (April 1958) was born on<br />

April 27, 1909, in New Norfolk, Tasmania, and has been a<br />

Singapore citizen since October 1956. Professional journalist in<br />

either Press or Radio or Government service since 1933. Deputy<br />

Chief Editor, British Far Eastern Broadcasting Service,<br />

Singapore, 1946-48; Senior Press Officer, Department of Public<br />

Relations, Federation of Malaya, 1948-50; Editor, Special News<br />

Service, Radio Malaya Singapore, 1950-57; Acting Public<br />

Relations Secretary, Singapore, 1952-53; Malayan Information<br />

Offices, London, 1953; Press Liaison Officer, Marshall Cabinet,<br />

Singapore, 1955. Recreations Reading, writing, talking,<br />

collecting paintings, art criticism and helping to advance culture,<br />

world affairs and anything Malayan.<br />
