This session, organised by FIREFEC asbl, aims to reflect on the inclusion of<br />
women into financial systems and in particular on the notion of ‘women and<br />
microcredit’. Different approaches will be discussed, based on recent initiatives<br />
such as the one from the G20 Summit 2012 in Mexico, the Action Plan for<br />
Financial Inclusion designed to deliver financial services to marginalised<br />
sectors, and by studying the context and the applicability of microcredits in<br />
Africa. The conference seeks to formulate strategies to strengthen capacities<br />
of women in combating poverty.<br />
