This session aims to present to development partners the mechanisms set up<br />
by Cameroon to accompany the transfer of powers to Local Authorities in the<br />
area of sustainable, inclusive and decentralised management of natural<br />
resources. The objective is also to highlight the constraints relating to support<br />
to Councils in the exercising of these powers. It should be emphasised that<br />
the European Union remains the first partner of Cameroon as regards exports<br />
of processed goods. In 2007, exports to this geographical area represented<br />
81 % of total timber exports from Cameroon.<br />
