3. Option–l<br />
Objective : To use an appropriate style to draft a notice.<br />
Marking : 2 marks for content. ½ for each point and credit should be given for ideas coherently<br />
and clearly.<br />
The following four points carry ½ mark each:<br />
• title (what)<br />
• venue, time, date (when)<br />
• participation (who)<br />
• salient features (How)<br />
Format : 1 Mark.<br />
Fluency : 1 Mark<br />
Accuracy : 1 Mark<br />
OR<br />
Option–2<br />
Objective : To use an appropriate style to express inability / decline an invitation.<br />
Marking : 2 marks for content ½ for each point and 3 marks for expression.<br />
The following four points carry ½ marks each:<br />
• thanking for the invitation<br />
• inability to accept <strong>of</strong>fer<br />
• reason for the same<br />
• wishing them success 2 + 3 = 5 Marks<br />
4. Option–l<br />
Objective : To use an appropriate style to write a formal letter. To plan, organize and present<br />
ideas coherently.<br />
Marking : 2 marks for format.<br />
(format clues the following points : Sender’s address, Addressee’s address, date,<br />
subject, salutation, subscription and complimentary close)<br />
3 marks for the body / content <strong>of</strong> the letter and 5 marks for expression (2½ for<br />
fluency and 2½marks for accuracy)<br />
Content may include the following value points<br />
• introduction/elaboration <strong>of</strong>the problem <strong>of</strong> eve-teasing in local buses 1 Mark<br />
• expression <strong>of</strong> concern 1 Mark<br />
• suggestions to women for their own safety 1 Mark<br />
try in judo-:karate / self defence<br />
carrying chilli powder<br />
shouting for help<br />
