Procedure to be followed
l No fresh proposal will be entertained without receipt of Utilization Certificates
for all earlier releases.
Veterinary Care
l Central Zoo Authority is providing all necessary assistance to zoos for creating
basic veterinary facilities to the extent can be handled by the veterinarians
posted in the zoos.
l The zoos have been requested to develop some mechanism with the legal
veterinary institutions/hospitals in their regions for providing specialized
services and diagnostic facilities to the zoos.
l Central Zoo Authority can provide one time financial assistance for
developing the above mechanism.
National Referral Centre
l Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly has been identified to act as
National Referral Centre on veterinary care for Indian zoos to provide superspeciality
services and diagnostic facilities.
l The Centre will organize studies/research on animal health care related articles
in Indian zoos and also conduct training for the zoo veterinarians.
