The crisis management plan should have<br />

• Crisis management protocol<br />

• Crisis management plan/cell with personnel and budgetary allocation<br />

• Crisis management infrastructure<br />

• Mock drill plans<br />

• Provisions <strong>of</strong> specialized training for facing such crisis by a special group<br />

• Network with the national /state or other such contingency plans<br />

Reducing losses in case <strong>of</strong> a crisis<br />

• Strengthening building dodes<br />

• Design enclosures which are damage pro<strong>of</strong><br />

• Establish standards <strong>of</strong> maintenance that detects vulnerability<br />

• Establish relocation plan and facilities for livestock<br />

• Build flood channels, firebreaks etc. to minimize impacts<br />

Key elements <strong>of</strong> crisis management<br />

• Identification, frequency, intensity and probability <strong>of</strong> such events<br />

• Documentation <strong>of</strong> probable impacts, zones and areas and database <strong>of</strong> impacts<br />

and responses and their results for future reference<br />

• Post crisis investigation to collect additional data for crisis and revise existing<br />

plan<br />

• Expect and lookout for new potential crisis for which you may not have a<br />

response - terrorism, bird flu.<br />
