Conservation Education <strong>Zoo</strong> Design<br />

• Educators are essential members <strong>of</strong> exhibit development teams<br />

• The educator’s analytical approach can help mold the volumes <strong>of</strong> information<br />

into effective conservation messages<br />

WZACS emphasises the use <strong>of</strong> variety <strong>of</strong> educational techniques, facilities<br />

and considerations, together with knowledge, creativity and inventiveness,<br />

can make zoos highly interesting, attractive and effective places for<br />

environmental, conservation and holistic life system education<br />

The National <strong>Zoo</strong> Policy (1998), framed under Wildlife Protection Act<br />

1972, stipulates that “Each <strong>Zoo</strong> should have a drawn up plan for educating<br />

the visitors as well as others in the community.”<br />
