Sub: Modifications in financial powers of CPWD officers for
MAN 175
sanctioning of extra/substituted/deviation of items
Following provisions of para 23.1.2 of CPWD Works Manual 2007
and modifications affected vide O.M. No.DGW/MAN/153 dated
17.03.2008 in respect of sanctioning powers of
extra/substituted/deviation of items different authorities are partially
modified as under;

Sanction of deviations
Deviations in quantities of individual
item upto +10% of agreement
quantities will not need any prior
approval of TS authority and sanction
of deviations is not required.
Deviations beyond this limit of +
10% should not be made at site
without in principle approval of TS
authority. Once in principle
approval is obtained, the total
deviations (including initial + 10%)
shall be sanctioned by officers as
per delegation of powers given at

Deviation in quantities of individual item
beyond the limit of + 10% but within
deviation limit as specified under clause 12
of the contract, will not require prior
approval of technical sanction authority
but total deviation (including initial + 10%
) shall be sanctioned by officers as per
delegation of powers.
