that Brahman should be the object of meditation and not the<br />

Prakriti).<br />

7) Center of consciousness: Head and heart are the safest center<br />

advisable to the majority of the people. Centers below the heart<br />

should not be chosen without expert instructions.<br />

This book talked about the centers of consciousness very briefly but in<br />

her meditation she learned lot more details about those which Baba<br />

referred to as seven different 'Chakras'. She can't find the reference to a<br />

book where she had found a very good description of the chakras in<br />

language very similar to what Baba had used, but she still has the<br />

information saved as a copied page from somewhere and it reads "On<br />

February 3, 98, Baba gave her the lesson on maintaining equal<br />

mindedness and it was done by following an intense meditation<br />

technique which was a way to control the disturbances and agitation of<br />

the mind. To use the technique she was asked to imagine a form of the<br />

God (for her Lord Shiva's form in a meditation posture was prescribed<br />

then) and imagine rotating a sharp bladed wheel around the form<br />

ensuring that it did not touch any part of the imagined God form. Baba<br />

had said "Foremost, you should not be agitated by external world, but<br />

initially when you are unable to control the disturbances this intense<br />

meditation technique will help you. Now feel the purifying nectar flow<br />

from your heart chakra to upward and downward to all parts of your<br />

body. "<br />

Swami Nikhilananda in his book "Self - Knowledge" says about kinds<br />

of meditation "There are two kinds of mediation, namely, the objective<br />

and the subjective. The objective meditation is, again, of two kinds<br />

associated with sound symbol and another by a form symbol. Sound<br />

symbol consists in repeating such formula as "Om Sat-chit-anandam<br />

Brahma" or "Om Sat-chit-ekam Brahma." In the form symbol the<br />

aspirant meditates on some external object or form that seems to him<br />

closest to Brahman."<br />

"The objective meditation in its early stage is called Savikalpa where<br />

the aspirant is conscious of the object of the meditation; when the<br />
