Eight surfin’ songs in the style of the Beach Boys during the ‘60s surfing scene make this musical both singable and
loveable. Old Italian immigrant, Luigi Barone, owns the Surfin’ Burger hangout on the best surfing beachfront on Kahuna
Beach in California. Wily land developers want to buy (or steal) Luigi’s property from him, but the teen surfers, the aging
beatnicks (who speak in poetry with bongo drums) and the birdwatchers find the way to keep Luigi’s dream alive. Songs
include: "Surf’s Up," "The American Dream," "Riptide," "Hey, Little Girl," "Shocka Bra," "She’s-a My
Land" and more. A captivating story with many excellent roles. Love, hope, laughs, suspense and
hi-jinks. Easy to stage.
All hands on deck! Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story of The Little Mermaid is adapted into a musical and
revamped to tell the story as if it were happening today. Poseidon’s daughters are giddy for their sixteenth birthdays.
When a royal mermaid turns sixteen, her voice comes into full bloom. As if that wasn’t enough to get a fifteen-year-old
mermaid excited, she also gets to visit the surface to see what life is like out of the ocean. But there are some bad
barnacles out there who want to spoil the fun. Colorful and energetic dialogue is paired with fast-paced music to tell
the story of the mermaids’ adventures ashore. Music includes: “Oh to Go to the Ocean,” “Mermaid’s Voice,”
“The Sailor’s Life for Me,” “Villain’s Lair,” “Who Needs Love,” “More to See than the Sea” and many more. Large
cast with many parts for actors of all ages and abilities.
Order #R-R247 Script: $6.50
Order #R-R248 Vocal score: $8
Order #R-R249 Piano/conductor score: $20
Order #R-RC47 Production/rehearsal CD set: $65
A new kind of classic cowboy-country comedy with a wide variety of zany Western characters. Lucy Canary, the mayor’s
daughter, loves Lester Goodbe, a likeable cowboy. But Lucy’s father insists that she marry Otis Lackginger, a rich, old
coot with one foot in the grave. Lucy pretends to lose her voice to stall the marriage, and everyone goes on a search to
find a doctor to cure her. And what a passel of phony medics they find! The climax is the funniest operation scene ever
witnessed – the doctors take it all out and put it all back! Add nine delightfully original bluegrass and country music songs
to this wildly witty comedy and you have theatrical magic! Songs include: “Is There a Doctor in the House?” “Who’s
Talkin’ ‘Bout Love?” “We Belong Together,” “Love Is the Best Dang Doctor,” “Medicine Show Today,” “The
Professional Way” and more. If Moliére could see this farce in “Western” style he’d laugh himself silly! Only one set.
Zany Western costumes. The show is a supernova of fun – the audience will love it. Recommended for performers of any age.
(available as a one act musical on page 10 and as a full length play on page 15)
