Theatre is used to make audiences laugh, cry, think, and
much, much more. This play will have audiences of all
ages thinking about a very prominent subject in schools
today: bullying. Researched, written, and performed by the
students of Franklin High School in central New Jersey,
the play provides many perspectives on bullying from
victims to bullies to those who looked on. The play is
formatted as a series of short scenes to illustrate a variety
of causes and effects of bullying. Scenes include real-life
occurrences of bullying such as the Virginia Tech shooting
and the two Rutgers students charged with invasion of
privacy of another student, which led to that student’s
suicide. Many statistics paired with brief monologues
emphasize the impact bullying has on everyone and the
even greater importance of getting dialogue started to
prevent bullying. Perfect for classroom use, assembly
performance, or a traveling troupe. Contains strong
language.
