A new Senior Citizens
Activity Center is open in
Ocean City, designed to serve
the needs of approximately
4,200 elderly persons in Ocean
City and Upper Township, on
the nearby Cape May County
mainland.
The Center provides services
to county residents over
the age of 60 through a
comprehensive program to
offer social, educational, legal
and medical service referral
assistance to the elderly.
Programs at the local
Center are administered bv
the County Oltice on Aging at
.Cape May Court House and
are supervised by a center
manager. Transportation to a
similar Center 33 miles away
in Lower Township. Cape May
County, is provided free of
charge by the county senior
citizens bus service, which
runs routes throughout the
county.
The Center is open from 9
a.m. until 4 p.m. and provides
such leisure time activities as
arts, crafts, table games and
educational programs in
consumer subjects.
