You must get terribly bored
from tales of misery and grief.
Requests for health, requests
for wealth - and always for
relief.
You never get invited to - a*
Or luscious meal, with drink
and all, that's set out for the
hearty.
I've'never heard that you were
asked to join life's fun and love;
But only that all agonies were
sent down from above.
"Poor Mr. Brown." they say -
"He never did no harm."
"Or how can Zilch, the
millionaire - work without any
arm?"
"Lucy Stirrups, My Oh My,
My God above, what have I
done - I've done - I've
overlooked you're human?!
I
When people come into
this establishment in order
to discuss funeral service
arrangements, we don't
begin by telling them what
to do. We listen "to what
they have to say. Some are
very knowledgeable, some
have very definite ideas,
some are confused and
warn to sort out their
thoughts. We listen.
Afterwards we present
facts, show them what we
have to offer and frankly
tell them what we can do
and what we cannot do. We
want very much to help and
usually things can be N
arranged to their
satisfaction. Then we can
begin to prepare a funeral
service. But we are not
going to bend the facts and
assure them that we can
accomplish their aims
when we can't. In this field
deception is really
selfdefeating, so there is no
qreat virtue in adhering to
ethical standards.
