Seixal Municipal Ecomuseum
This is to certify that Mr. Victor Hugo Gomes had a meeting with me and the coordinator of
the conservation service, and also had a visit to the Seixal Municipal Ecomuseum to
introduce Goa Chitra Museum of Ethnography.
It is unquestionably an important collection that justifies further collaboration in order to
develop a museological project supported by a conservation program.

Museum of Work Michel Giacometti
This is to certify that Mr. Victor Hugo Gomes had a meeting with the technicians of the
Museum of Work Michel Giacometti. in order to introduce Goa Chitra Museum of
Ethnography.
We were tremendously glad to hear and see the foundations of the museum project as to
virtually visit the rich and well-preserved ethnographic collection that concerns all the
tangible parts of Goa's culture. It is an amazing and diverse collection that justifies our
collaboration in order to develop any kind of museological project due to the fact that not
only this is a valuable collection but also it has an absolutely remarkable vision and mission,
therefore, is an example to be studied and accompanied. It touches all the important aspects
of the world as we know today, struggling with environmental issues and lack of wisdom
towards our origins. It embodies, in a very special way. ecological matters and preservation
of ancestral knowledge, using the artifacts as ways of communication. All of this, just to state, that this project is larger than
the enormous collection of over 40.000 ethnographic artifacts.
Museum of Work strongly recommends that this project should be supported by those who have the social and economic
responsibilities to do so.

Declaro para os devidos efeitos que o Dr. Victor Hugo Gomes visitou o Museu do Oriente,
em varias ocasioes, durante a sua estadia em Lisboa no mes de Junho, tendo-lhc sido
proporcionados tambem o conhecimento da coleccao em reserva, assim como os criterios
que presidem a execucao do inventario de todas as coleccoes do MO.
Nesta ocasiao apresentou um audio-visual de sua autoria relativo ao "Goa Chitra Museum
of Etnography" que comentou detalhadamente, sendo unanimemente elogiado pelos tres
tecnicos superiores presentes.
Considero muito louvavel qualquer apoio cientifico e financeiro que outras entidades
queiram prestar ao projecto acima mencionado, a semelhanca do que agora decorreu com o
patrocinio da Fundacao Oriente.
