GSI-Business forms
The GSI business forms serve as the basis for all correspondence to ensure a uniform appearance to
the outside. To achieve the goal of sustainable recognition, it is essential to follow the guidelines closely.
A detailed visual identity can only be created through a strict application of the samples. There are
sheets for Microsoft Word, OpenOffi ce and LaTeX available.
There are serveral letter and fax templates for the different requirements:
• GSI general buisness documents in colour and black-and-white are are referred to as:
„GSI-Brief-allg-c“ and „GSI-Brief-allg-sw“
(„c“ stands for color / „sw“ stands for black-and-white)
• with line for reference signs (fi le memos etc.) in colour and black-and-white:
„GSI-Brief-Bzz-c“ und GSI-Brief-Bzz-sw
• with FAIR logo in colour and black-and-white:
„GSI-Brief-FAIR-c“ und „GSI-Brief-FAIR-sw“
• with EMMI logo in colour:
„GSI-Brief-EMMI-c“
• general fax template:
„GSI-FAX-allg“
How to personalize your business forms!
The business forms can be customized to your needs, i.e. they can be given their own contact information
in the sender fi eld. In the current business forms it is possible to show the hierarchy of the division
and/or the department. Alternatively, you may also use the space to list the divisions and/or department
head (see example 1 and 2).
If the division or department hierarchy shouldn‘t be shown, your own department and personal information
should be listed directly (see example 3). If documents have several pages the header and logos remain
unchanged, but your personal information, as well as the legal notes aren‘t shown on the following
pages any more. The page number at the bottom left of the document is generated automatically (see
example 4).
Please note that while using the business forms, the general design principle (see last page) must be
follow strictly. Grid, logos and general sender fi eld must never be changed.

Application of the general
design principle
For all areas the font Arial is used.

Header and right column
The header contains the GSI logo and the
overall GSI address. The right column shows
mandatory legal data, the account number and
the Helmholtz logo.
These two fi elds are fi xed and must not be
changed or left out!
Sender
In the right column there is room for the personalization
of your form.The division or department
hierarchy can be shown as well, but is not
necessary.
