C. SPACE FOR ADDITIONAL PROCESS CODES OR FOR DESCRIBING OTHER PROCESS (.do "TO4'). FOR EACH PROCESS ENTERED HERE INCLUDE DESIGN CAPACITY,
T02, D84
The 216-B-63 Trench began waste management operations in March of 1970. The
216-B-63 Trench received nonregulated process water from the B Plant
chemical sewer. The trench also received corrosive dangerous waste from the -
regeneration of deminera7izer columns in B Plant. Treatment occurred by the
successive addition to the trench of acidic and caustic waste, which served to
neutralize the waste while in the trench. Approximately 473,175 liters
(125,000 gallons) per day of total flow reached the trench. The corrosive
discharges constituted a major part of this flow. This unit has not received
dangerous waste since September 1985 and will close. The 216-B-63 Trench was
stabilized in November 1994 and permanently isolated in December 1994. The
process design capacity reflects the maximum volume of water discharged to the
trench on a daily basis rather than the physical capacity of the unit.
IV. DESCRIPTION OF DANGEROUS WASTES
A. DANGEROUS WASTE NUMBER -Enter the four digit number from Chapter 173 .303 WAC for each listed dangerous waste you will handle. If you handle
dangerous wastes which am not listed In Chapter 173-303 WAC, enter the tout digit numbar(s) that describes the characteristics and/or the toxic contaminants
of those dangerous wastes.
B. ESTIMATED ANNUAL QUANTITY - For each listed waste entered in eokxnn Aestimate the quantity of that wash that will be handled on an annual basis.
For each characteristic or text. contaminant entered M column A estimate the total annual quantity of all the non-listed waste(,) that will be handled which
possess that characteristic or contaminant.
C. UNIT OF MEASURE- For each quantity entered M column B enter the unit of measure code. Unite of measure which must be used and the appropdata wiles
are:
ENGLISH UNIT OF M EASURE CODE METRIC UNIT OF MEASURE CODE
POUNDS....... .............. P
KILOGRAMS......:............ K
TONS......... .... .......... T METRIC IONS............. ... ..M.
If facility records us. any other unit of measure lot quantity• the who of measure must be converted Into ens of the required units of measure taking Into account the
appropriate density or specific gravity of the waste.
D. PROCESSES
1. PROCESS CODES:
A s elect the code(s) from the Eat of process codes contained in Section lon III
For non-Bated dangerous wastes: For each characteristic at toxic contaminant entered M Column A. select the codo(s) from the list of process codes contained in
Section III to indicate all the processes that will be used to atom, treat, and/or dispose of all the non-listed dangerous wastes that possess that characteristic or
taxi. contaminant.
Note: Four spaces am provided for entering process codes, If seam are needed: (1) Enter the /lest three as described above; (2) Enter -000- in the extreme right
box of Item IV-0(11: and (3) Enter in the apace provided on page 4, the ikm number and the additional codo W.
2. PROCESS DESCRIPTION: If a code is not listed for a process that wig be used, describe the process in the spa ce provided on the fomi.
NOTE: DANGEROUS WASTES DESCRIBED BY MORE THAN ONE DANGEROUS WASTE NUMBER. Dangerous wastes that can be described by mom than one Waste
Number shall be described on the form as follows:
I . Select one of the Dangerous Waste Numbers and enter it In column A. On the same line complete coldmns S. C. and D by estimating the total annual quantity of
the waste and describing all the processes to be used to treat, store, and/or dispose of the waste.
2. In wiumn A of the next line inter the other Dangerous Waste Number that can be used to describe the waste. In column D(2) on that line enter 'Included with
above' and make no other entries on that Ens.
3. Repeat step 2 for each other Dangerous Waste Number that can be used to describe the dangerous watt..
of that waste. Treatment will be In an Incinerator and disposal will be in a landfill.
