Mass Intentions and Votive Candles
Today’s Mass is being offered FOR ALL OF
OUR MOTHERS, LIVING AND DECEASED
as we celebrate Mother’s Day and our
parish’s annual May Crowning..
Mass intentions may be scheduled by calling
the number listed in the bulletin or by
mailing your request in to the address listed
here. Intentions for the first part of this year
were covered by those received our first
weekend back! All subsequent requests are
being scheduled for later in 2013 and a
listing of them is being prepared presently.
Candles may be lit and paid for at Mass time
(offerings are $3 = large, $1 = small) or by
submitting your intention in an envelope and
we’d be happy to take care of this for you.
We are looking into securing new candle
racks for the church shrines...stay tuned!
Parish & Finance Council Candidates
Just a continued reminder that some questionnaires
for those who volunteered to serve on
our Parish Council and Finance Council have
yet to be turned in to the parish. If you haven’t
already done so, please complete the questionnaire
and submit it to the church. Failure to do
so will indicate your change of mind regarding
this possible service and we will be forced to
remove your name from consideration and
move ahead without you. We are preparing a
board to post all candidates for review.
Monsignor Telesz Memorials
Memorial contributions are being accepted in
memory of Rev. Msgr. Leo Telesz, our dear
Pastor Emeritus who passed away on March
27th, in thanksgiving for his 74 years of priesthood,
with 40 years of service to St. Casimir
Church, 36 as pastor. Thanks to those you
have already given. With your help, we will
work to memorialize Msgr. in a suitable way.

For now, our schedule remains one weekly, bilingual,
English-Polish Mass on Sundays at
11:30 AM. As a full parish, all of the spiritual
needs of our parishioners and friends for
Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals, etc., can be
arranged by contacting us at your convenience.
Sign-ups Continue
In the church vestibule and the hall, please find
a number of yellow sign-up sheets for various
ways in which our parish will be in need of
volunteer service in the near future. While
some of these areas might seem like they’re
repeated (lectors, servers, ushers), we mean to
show that we’re always open to new people
coming forward in service. Some sheets also
indicated the need for help with future first time
events which are in the planning stages (The
Taste of St. Casimir’s, etc.) We’re working on
a general parish calendar of special events so
that together we will develop new traditions,
continue the old, and keep our vibrant
community active & growing.

ASCENSION OF OUR LORD 12 MAY/MAJ, 2013
MOTHER’S DAY AND MAY CROWNING
TODAY, MAY 12TH
The second Sunday in May is traditionally
celebrated as Mother’s Day, a chance for all of
us to remember our living and deceased mothers
and all of the notable women in our lives in
a special way. It is also appropriate that this
observance falls within the Month of May
when the Church celebrates our heavenly
mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary.
A number of laudable and significant customs
have developed around these themes in almost
every culture, including our Polish and American
ones. Many people have fond memories of
May Crowning, litanies, rosary recitations,
Majowe devotions, processions, etc., which
were very much a part of our growing up.
Our parish of St. Casimir has retained the observance
of these special events. TODAY, immediately
following Mass, we will celebrate
our annual May Crowning. Please join in
our devotions and outdoor procession. Each
Sunday in May thereafter, we will conclude
Mass with the celebration of Majowe devotions.
Our thanks to all who worked so hard to
prepare our parish grounds! NEXT UP: COR-

Memorial Remembrances
One of the important matters which everyone
must consider at some time or another is the
final disposition of their earthly possessions.
Usually, this includes remembering those
things most dear to us during our lifetime. Our
parish of St. Casimir is such an entity. We are
grateful to those families who requested in
obituaries that donations be made in memory
of their loved ones to our Church. We encourage
others to consider doing the same and also
to remember us in your estate planning and
will. Your love, help, and concern can ensure
the long lasting, vibrant future of St. Casimir’s.
ON OUR POLISH CONSTITUTION DAY
OBSERVERVATION
St. Casimir’s Welcomed Cleveland Polonia
May 3rd of each year marks Polish Constitution
Day, celebrating Poland’s 1791 historic document
which laid the foundation for democratic Europe.
Cleveland Polonia annually celebrates its observance
of this event the weekend closest to the actual
date, with this year’s being held last weekend,
May 3—5, 2013.
St. Casimir’s was proud to welcome the representatives
of Cleveland Polonia to our Mass. We
were grateful for their selecting our parish for this
year’s observance and tried to extend to all our
hearty Staropolskie Goscinosc! A hallmark characteristic
of true Poles has always been their unity
in the faith and so we rejoice that the various elements
of Cleveland Polonia gathered to praise
God with one heart and voice here at our parish.
In conjunction with this observance, we served in
our Social Hall both a breakfast before Mass and a
luncheon afterward which was so very well received
by all of our guests. We should all be
very proud that our parish is so well thought of
within the Polish community of Cleveland and
that we offer such a warm, welcoming, and hospitable
environment for both worship and socializing.
A big thanks to everyone who helped!!!
