24 <strong>Liberating</strong> <strong>Planet</strong> <strong>Earth</strong><br />
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,<br />
teaching them to observe ail that I commanded you (Matthew<br />
28:18-20).<br />
Jesus has all power on the earth, and He has all power over<br />
nations. It is through the Holy Spirit that He exercises His power.<br />
It is His goal that His earthly followers eventually exercise authority<br />
over the earth in His name, by His revealed Word, through the<br />
power of the Holy Spirit. Satan, unredeemed men, and all ungodly<br />
forces want you to stay ignorant of this all-important truth.<br />
The church, as the assembly of the saints (saint: he who has access<br />
to God’s sanctuary in prayer), has political ramifications; because<br />
it proclaims governmental wisdom and law for the nations of the<br />
earth, it is the “pillar and ground” of truth (1 Timothy 3:15).<br />
Concern for our Father’s earth is at the center of Christ’s<br />
heart. When His disciples asked Him how to pray, He led them<br />
into God the Father’s perspective:<br />
Pray, then, in this way: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed<br />
be Thy nam”e. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as<br />
it is in heaven (Matthew 6:9-10, King James Version).<br />
Please notice that the central issue of our praying is to be that<br />
God’s will be done on earth. In similar fashion, when Jesus prayed<br />
for His disciples as recorded in John 17:15, He specifically asked<br />
not that His disciples be removed from the world, but rather that<br />
they be protected from its evils, so that they could be effective in<br />
it, discipline it and bringing it under Christ’s law.<br />
Losing Ground<br />
The battle for the earth is currently going on, yet most Christians<br />
don’t know or care. We have been told it doesn’t really matter.<br />
We have been led to believe that all that God cares about is<br />
heaven and the future. Well-meaning Christians have told us this,<br />
and evil men have told us this. It has been very effective misinformation,<br />
no matter what the source.<br />
Consider the current dimensions of our losses. In the last fifty<br />
