the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth,<br />

and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So<br />

God created man in his own image, in the image of God created<br />

he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed<br />

them, and God said unto them, Be fi-uitful, and multiply, and<br />

replenish the earth, and subdue iti and have dominion over the<br />

fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living<br />

thing that moveth upon the earth (Gen. 1:26-28).<br />

God promises His people a great inheritance in history<br />

His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth<br />

(Psa. 25:13).<br />

For evildoers shall be cut OR but those that wait upon the LORD,<br />

they shall inherit the earth (Psa. 37:9).<br />

But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves<br />

in the abundance of peace (Psa. 37:11).<br />

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth (Matt. 5:5).<br />

Jesus fed the multitudes and healed the sick. Then He told<br />

the apostles: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth<br />

on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works<br />

than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever<br />

ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father<br />

may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my<br />

name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. And<br />

I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,<br />

that he may abide with you for ever (John 14:12-16).<br />

Ah, yes: the commandments. The law of God. You know the<br />

Oid i%tament. When we turn to the Old Testament, we find lots<br />

and lots of examples of covenant-based social betterment. We<br />

find whole passages that promise social betterment in response<br />

to covenantal faithfulness, passages such as Leviticus 26:3-13<br />

and Deuteronomy 28:1-14. This means that Chrzkians must
