Happy upcoming Thanksgiving
to you all out in Readerville,
What—no barrage of campaign
ads every few minutes. I
am almost having withdrawal
from that. Cold air has moved
in to replace all that “hot air” we
have had to endure during this
campaign season.
Post Election
We are left with all the residue
and a few promises, prom-
ises. You know the promise of a
chicken in every pot and a car in
every garage. I wish they would
limit all spending, no matter if
it is obtained local, state or national.
They do not have to be
on 24/7. A couple of debates and
a few ads is all we need. We are
not stupid. We get it.
Just think what they could have
done for the economy if they
would have put all that money
into it. But, no, they have to tie up
Oh, well, the Democrats pretty
much took it all so we can all
rest easy. They promised to “get
r done.” Oops, did I hear right
that Obama now says it will not
be a quick fix, maybe not even in
the first term? Is that a bid for another
four years? He is not even
in office yet and already is after
an extension. Promises, Promises
- should have known it was
too good to believe.
Charity is 29 years old, a single parent with three
children, Hayden 13, Haylie 11 and Chance 7.
Charity was diagnosed with breast cancer on August
1. On September 4 she underwent a double mastectomy.
After severe complications and four surgeries Charity
has been unable to work. Charity is currently at home
but has a pic line for Home Health Care to administer
medications.
All proceeds from this benefit will go toward helping
Charity and her three children with the many expenses
due to her illness. We are asking our surrounding
communities to pull together and help out a family in
need.
We are in need of donations, items for the auction,
volunteers and baked goods. We appreciate your
support.
Any auction items or donation can be dropped off at the Country Chicks on Main
Street Thurs. ~ Saturday.
If you need more information please call Angie at 417-838-1571 or Kenda at 417-
that I usually get to see such as
Kirby Hedrick, Ben and Betty
Loftin, etc. I did enjoy seeing
Inez Atchison, my sister, Edna
Ruth Kessinger and her family,
Ron, Kimberlee, Michael,
and, of course, the little charming
Wesley. I also had the pleasure
of seeing Gertie and Efton
Pritchard, Sophie Mease, the ladies
working the polls and several
others.
Jo Jo immediately told everyone
they would have to line up
because he was an F.B.I man. I
took him into my booth and let
him help me vote before he tried
to take over the polling place.
It was a good day, even if this
year’s election was the worst one
I have ever participated in. But
we will pray!!
Here And There
I saw Norma Johnson while we
were at Dr. Woodall’s. I had not
seen her for a coon’s age. It was
nice to visit with her. Thanks
goes to my sister-in-law, Rosemary
Youngblood, for providing
us with a nice taxi to the doctor’s
office. We have been missing
her and her mother, Mary, at our
Sunday dinners. Hurry and get
well friend, Mary.
Mom, once again, caught up
with all four of her sisters via the
telephone. This always makes
her day. Aunt Lorene is still not
back up to par yet, but we pray
she will be soon.
Sick Bay
There are lots of people sick
with allergies, changes in the
weather, and other serious maladies.
Marie Elder was taken
to the E.R. She has not been
well for months after suffering
a stroke and its residual effects.
We want to send our finest bouquet
of wishes tied with ribbons
of prayer to all of you who are
suffering from one thing or another.
Birthdays
Dr. Bill Cruce in K.C. made
a trip to Wichita to spend a few
days with his mother, my sweet
Aunt Edna Cruce and family. He
wanted his favorite fried chicken
for his birthday, but Auntie had
just done that meal so he got to
dine on smothered steak instead.
Too bad Billy boy.
My ornery nephew, Mike Kessinger,
will have a birthday on
November 24. My angel from
heaven, Mary Jr, along with
Pastor Barnes celebrated on November
7. They share this day
with Dr. Billy Graham. Jodi
McIntosh climbed another rung
on November 7 also. Hey, Kimberlee
Kessinger, what did you
say about Old Jodi, or was that
“ole”Jodi?
Complex
All you people have given
me a complex with your caller
I.D.’s. You call a number and no
one answers. You call again and
get the same results. You now
begin to wonder – are they ignoring
me, don’t want to talk to
me, or are they really not home?
I think they should do away with
that dratted thing. Enough is
enough.
Better Late Than Sorry
There was a wedding, some
gallivanters, and a future wedding
that I failed to cover. I am
not sure who is to blame for this,
but I know it is not me.
Congratulations to the newly weds! Vows between Oralee Stone
Greetings
Greetings out west to a couple
of my pygmy friends. No, not
rattlesnakes, just my wee friends,
Brandon and Daniel O’day
and their father, Chris. Happy
Thanksgiving and Christmas to
you guys.
