COURSE OBJECTIVES
One Day in Mind/Body Medicine is an introduction to the
principles of mind/body medicine, with an emphasis on its
efficacy in treating medical symptoms and improving
disease management.
This course will explain the scientific foundation
of mind/body medicine and describe the clinical
interventions shown to decrease the frequency and
intensity of medical symptoms and conditions caused or
exacerbated by stress, including:
• Autoimmune Disease
• Cancer
• Cardiac Disease
• Chronic Pain
• Depression and Anxiety
• Gastrointestinal
Disorders
• Infertility
• Insomnia
• Menopause
These interventions have been shown to improve
patient disease management. This course is designed to
encourage participant interaction and combines didactic
presentation with experiential learning.
Course components include:
• Elicitation of the relaxation response
• Cognitive/behavioral strategies
• Coping skills

• Tuition Fee: $265 (USD)
Register early, space is limited. All foreign payments must be
made by a draft on a United States bank or by Visa or
MasterCard. Please make check payable to Harvard Medical
School and mail with application form to Harvard Medical
School - Department of Continuing Education, P.O. Box
825, Boston, MA 02117-0825. If paying by credit card, fax

to the above address. Telephone registrations are not accepted.

registration a confirmation letter will be mailed to the

Refund Policy
A handling fee of $60 is deducted for cancellation. Refund
requests must be received by mail or fax one week prior to
the course. No refunds will be made thereafter.
Course Location and Accommodations
Hotel rooms in Boston are limited. You are urged to make
your reservations early. A limited number of rooms have
been reserved at The Inn at Longwood Medical
(Telephone: 1-877-267-9991) until October 13, 2006.

a reduced room rate of $169 Single/Double per night. A map
