COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES<br />

This 2-day course during the foliage season in New<br />

Engl<strong>and</strong> brings diagnostic <strong>ana<strong>to</strong>mic</strong>/surgical <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>clinical</strong> <strong>pathology</strong> <strong>to</strong>gether through an extensive<br />

number of concise case presentations, focusing on the<br />

essential “pearls” of each <strong>to</strong>pic. The cases/<strong>to</strong>pics<br />

demonstrate concepts that pathologists are likely <strong>to</strong><br />

encounter in their daily practice. Both an <strong>ana<strong>to</strong>mic</strong><br />

pathologist <strong>and</strong> a <strong>clinical</strong> pathologist will present the<br />

key concepts for each case. The speakers are all<br />

specialists in the <strong>to</strong>pics being presented.<br />

The principal objectives of the course are <strong>to</strong>:<br />

• Engage participants in a series of concise, educational<br />

case-based presentations on <strong>to</strong>pics that are<br />

likely <strong>to</strong> be encountered in <strong>pathology</strong> practice,<br />

focusing on the key concepts<br />

• Highlight new <strong>and</strong> emerging st<strong>and</strong>ards of care in<br />

<strong>clinical</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>ana<strong>to</strong>mic</strong> <strong>pathology</strong><br />

• Optimize diagnostic skills by integrating <strong>ana<strong>to</strong>mic</strong><br />

<strong>and</strong> <strong>clinical</strong> <strong>pathology</strong><br />

• Learn <strong>to</strong> apply <strong>clinical</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>ana<strong>to</strong>mic</strong> <strong>pathology</strong> <strong>to</strong><br />

<strong>reach</strong> a <strong>diagnosis</strong><br />
