Transgenic Resistance to Insects: Gene Flow 425
of transgenic crops, science-based evaluations should be used on a case-by-case basis to
the best of our ability. Increased knowledge underpinning transgenic crops provides a
greater confi dence in the assurances that science can give when evaluating and monitoring
the impact of transgenic crops relative to traditional methods of crop improvement. The
resulting regulation is not a static activity, but needs continuous revisiting based on
increased knowledge and experience.
