counts, “one, two three, four” and communicates,<br />
“four.”<br />
• Counts the beads in her necklace, communicating,<br />
“one, two, three, four, five, six.” A friend<br />
asks, “How many beads do you have?” and the<br />
child replies, “six.”<br />

one slice of apple for each of the five children<br />
