Banks:<br />

FEDERAL FUNDS represent funds bought by the bank from the excess reserve funds of other banks that<br />

are maintained in the Federal Reserve Bank. These funds are purchased by the bank when their reserves<br />

temporarily go below their reserve requirements.<br />
