and sophomore years, are granted honor standing on the basis described<br />

on page 103 of this Catalogue. In addition, a smaller number<br />

of tuition grants may be awarded to students of exceptionally high<br />

standing who are in need of financial assistance.<br />

It is expected that all students awarded scholarships or tuitiongrants<br />

will maintain high scholastic standing. Failure to do so at<br />

any time during the school year may result in the termination of the<br />

award.<br />

HARRIET HARVEY SCHOLARSHIP<br />

WALTER HUMPHRY SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Miss Harriet Harvey and the late Mrs. Emily A. Humphry made<br />

provision for two scholarships. The first of these, the Harriet Harvey<br />

Scholarship, is to be awarded preferably to a well-qualified candidate<br />

from the state of Wisconsin. If there is no such candidate the<br />

Institute may award the scholarship elsewhere.<br />

The second, the Walter Humphry Scholarship, is to be awarded<br />

preferably to a well-qualified candidate from the state of Iowa. If<br />

there is no such candidate, the Institute may award the scholarship<br />

elsewhere.<br />

DABNEY SCHOLARSHIP<br />

Mrs. Joseph B. Dabney has made provision for an annual scholarship<br />

to be awarded at the discretion of the Institute to some member<br />

of the undergraduate student body. The recipient is designated the<br />

Dabney Scholar.<br />

LA VERNE NOYES SCHOLARSHIPS<br />

Under the will of the late La Verne Noyes, of Chicago, funds are<br />

provided for paying the tuition, in part or in full, of deserving<br />

students needing this assistance to enable them to procure a university<br />

or college training. This is to be done without regard to<br />

differences of race, religion, or political party, but only for those<br />

who shall be citizens of the United States of America and either<br />
