REQUIRDIENTS FOR ADMISSION TO UNDERGRADUATE STANDING 85<br />

Regular entrance examinations will be held at the Institute Saturday,<br />

March 15, and Saturday, March 22,<strong>1941</strong>. Applicants should report<br />

in the Lounge of Dabney Hall March 15, at 8: 3 0 a.m. The examinations<br />

on March 15 will be chemistry and English and on March 22<br />

mathematics and physics. The examinations in chemistry and English<br />

for high school juniors will be held in Dabney Hall on June 14, <strong>1941</strong>.<br />

Students living at a distance from Pasadena may, upon request, be<br />

allowed to take the entrance examinations under the supervision of<br />

their local school authorities. Arrangements for examinations in<br />

absentia should include a letter to the Registrar from the individual<br />

directing the tests stating that the required supervision wiII be given.<br />

PHYSICAL EXAMINATION<br />

Each applicant must pass a physical examination prior to admission<br />

to the Institute. These examinations will be conducted for the<br />

Institute by the staff of the Huntington Memorial Hospital. At the<br />

time of his registration each new student will be assigned an appointment<br />

for his examination. Registrations are tentative pending such<br />

examinations, and are subject to cancellation if the examinations are<br />

unsatisfactory. Students living at a distance are advised to consult<br />

their family physicians before coming to Pasadena in order to avoid<br />

unnecessary expense if physical defects exist which would prevent<br />

successful scholastic work. Every student entering the Institute for<br />

the first time must be vaccinated upon admission or bring a certificate<br />

from a physician that he has been vaccinated not earlier than<br />

one month before admission. Those students who refuse to be vaccinated<br />

will be denied admission to the Institute.<br />

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION<br />

Application for admission to the Institute may be made at any time,<br />

but there is a distinct advantage in doing so by the first of March, or<br />

even earlier. This enables the Institute to make full use of all information<br />

available from high school sources. Applicants should submit<br />

their scholastic records before taking the entrance examinations. Each
