traverses, use of calculating machines, topographic mapping and field methods.<br />

Prerequisite: CEo 1.<br />
A continuation of CEo I, covering topographic surveys, plane table surveys, base<br />
line measurements, triangulation, determination of latitude and a true meridian by<br />
SUD and circumpolar star observations, curves, cross-section surveys and earthwork<br />
estimates, stream gauging, draughting rOOm methods and mapping, and the solution<br />
of problems.<br />

CE.3. Plane Table Surveying. 8 units (1-6-1); third term.<br />
A subject offered primarily for students in geology but may be elected by<br />
arrangement with the department. Theory and use of the plane table a. applied to<br />
geological surveys. The class devotes one entire day a week to field survey. over<br />
typical terrain completing a topographic and geological map of the region covered.<br />
