Important: If only one flashing light is on, very little charge is left. If no lights are<br />
visible, the battery is <strong>com</strong>pletely drained and the <strong>com</strong>puter will not start up unless the<br />
power adapter is connected. Plug in the power adapter for several hours to let the<br />
battery recharge, or replace the drained battery with a fully charged battery (see the<br />
next section).<br />

Removing and Replacing the Battery<br />
To remove the battery:<br />
1 Shut down your <strong>iBook</strong>. Disconnect the power adapter, phone cord, and any other<br />
cables connected to the <strong>com</strong>puter to prevent damaging the <strong>com</strong>puter.<br />
2 Turn over the <strong>iBook</strong> and locate the battery latch. Use a coin to turn the latch a quarter<br />
turn clockwise to unlock the battery, and gently remove it.<br />
