load all of the other units on the infrastructure, whether<br />

they are connected wirelessly or via the wired infrastructure.<br />

n Bootp: Load the new firmware and configuration revisions into the<br />

units each time they power up.<br />

Downloading Using Xmo<strong>de</strong>m Protocol (Xmo<strong>de</strong>m/Crc-xmo<strong>de</strong>m)<br />

Use the Xmo<strong>de</strong>m or CRC-xmo<strong>de</strong>m options to load the new firmware version<br />

through the Console Port.<br />

Depending on the communications software programs available, choose:<br />

n Xmo<strong>de</strong>m: Terminates packets with a “checksum”<br />

n CRC-xmo<strong>de</strong>m: Terminates packets with a Cyclic Redundancy<br />

Check (CRC).<br />

Í To load firmware using Xmo<strong>de</strong>m or CRC-xmo<strong>de</strong>m:<br />

1. Connect a terminal to the Console Port using a communications<br />

software program (Procomm TM or Windows TM Terminal).<br />

2. Select either the Xmo<strong>de</strong>m option or CRC-xmo<strong>de</strong>m option, <strong>de</strong>pending<br />

on your communications software.<br />

The following message appears:<br />

Ready for XMODEM download. Use several ^X’s to cancel<br />

3. Set the communication program to initiate the file transfer to the<br />

unit.
