Using Filters 11 - 3<br />

n Both: Packets in both directions will be filtered. This option allows<br />

control of the type of traffic the radio no<strong>de</strong>s may use.<br />

Filtering Multicast Addresses (Multicast)<br />

The multicast menu allows you to control the filtering of multicasts<br />

based on the actual multicast address. When you select the Multicast<br />

option the Filter Multicast Menu appears.<br />

2 - Show - Display the multicast filters<br />

3 - Add - Add a multicast address filter<br />

4 - Remove - Remove a multicast address filter<br />

5 - Radio_mcst[ everywhere ]- Where to forward multicasts from radio<br />

Enter an option number or name, “=” main menu, previous menu<br />

Setting the Default Action (Default)<br />

The <strong>de</strong>fault option controls the filtering of multicasts whose address is<br />

not in the table. You may pick one of the following actions:<br />

n Discard: Multicasts with no table entries will not be forwar<strong>de</strong>d out<br />

the radio network.<br />

n Forward: Multicasts with no table entries will be forwar<strong>de</strong>d out the<br />

radio network.<br />

n Accesspt: Multicasts with no table entry will only be forwar<strong>de</strong>d to<br />

other access points and bridges, not to the client no<strong>de</strong>s.<br />

n Nonpsp: Multicasts with no table entries will be forwar<strong>de</strong>d out the<br />

radio network to non-power saving end no<strong>de</strong>s, not to any no<strong>de</strong>s<br />

using the PSP.<br />

Displaying The Filters (Show)<br />

Use the <strong>show</strong> option to display the multicast filters. When you select the<br />

<strong>show</strong> option the Multicast Filters screen appears.
