Using the Configuration Console Menu<br />

Accessing the Console System 2 - 11<br />

The Console system is configured using the Configuration Console<br />

Menu <strong>show</strong>n below. To access this menu, select Configuration from the<br />

Main Menu then select Console from the Configuration Menu.<br />

1 - Rpassword - Set readonly privilege password<br />

2 - Wpassword - Set write privilege password<br />

3 - Remote [ on ] - Allow remote operators<br />

4 - Telnet [ on ] - Allow telnet connections<br />

5 - Http [ on ] - Allow http connections<br />

6 - Display - Display the remote operator list<br />

7 - Add - Add an operator host<br />

8 - Delete - Remove an operator host<br />

9 - Communities [ menu ] - SNMP community properties<br />

01 - Type [ ansi ] - Terminal type<br />

02 - Port [ menu ] - Serial <strong>port</strong> set-up<br />

03 - Linemo<strong>de</strong> [ off ] - Console expects complete lines<br />

Setting Privilege Levels and Passwords (Rpassword, Wpassword)<br />

You can restrict access to the menus by setting privilege levels and passwords.<br />

Privilege levels are set from the Main Menu. Passwords are set<br />

from the Configuration Console Menu.<br />

There are three privilege levels:<br />

n Logged Out Level (Off): Access <strong>de</strong>nied to all sub-menus. Users are<br />

only allowed access to the privilege and help options of the Main<br />

Menu.<br />

n Read-Only Level (Readonly): Read-only privileges for all submenus.<br />

Only those commands that do not modify the configuration<br />

may be used.<br />

n Read-Write Level (Write): Allows users complete read and write<br />

access to all sub-menus and options.
