Satisfying the demands of people who make a living making music, responding to the specific, often unique demands of
live performers with competitive prices: this is not just a dream. It is the philosophy behind QUBE, a range of speaker
systems, power amplifiers and processor modules. The result is a comprehensive, expandable and fully reliable PA system
with incredible sound quality and a versatility that makes it ideal for permanent installation as well as road use.
The Qube project — dedicated to professionals who won’t settle for second best.
Sound Quality
QUBE series speakers are the optimum solution for live
performances, whether in small and intimate venues, or in
big open air arenas where thousands of watts are needed.
The series offers high quality and high fidelity sound reproduction
thanks to components specifically designed for the
QUBE system. So you can perform well and be heard well,
relying on top quality sound reproduction even at high
power, show after show, night after night.
Comprehensive Product Range
Those who use products from the QUBE range are not simply
the owners of a pair of speakers or a power amplifier.
Those who choose QUBE embrace the philosophy of a
system designed to adapt to a wide range of requirements,
from the perfect pair of speakers for the piano-bar performer
or the consultant with the task of installing a PA system
in a public building, to mega systems created for concert
musicians performing at high volume for thousands of fans.
The goal of offering a comprehensive product range is reached
thanks to the complete series of passive and powered
speakers with a built-in digital controller; an external digital
controller is designed to enhance the performance of the
passive speakers, to allow the expansion of systems with
subwoofers, and to enable configuration in accordance with
individual requirements.
UpGrade Options
The modularity and flexibility of the QUBE range enables
users to continually expand their systems at a minimum
cost, “navigating” through the configuration options as they
please… options which are all obtainable simply by integrating
their existing systems. Start with a pair of speakers, and
later as needs change, it is a simple matter to increase the
power of the system by adding a final stage and another pair
of speakers; alternatively, the addition of a pair of subwoofers
with a final stage provides a truly comprehensive
system in terms of frequency response.
Reliability
Those who claim to offer a professional PA system must
guarantee the reliability of their components.
The Qube engineers have made no compromises on this
front. The inclusion of protective circuitry on the crossover
filter limits excess power supplied to the driver, preventing
any damaging “Larsen” effects. For those who want an additional
level of protection, the controller limits power when
the woofer runs the risk of overheating or when movement
of the cone is so great as to alter or even damage its mechanical
characteristics. The same attention to detail has been
given to amplifiers, with protection circuits to preventing
direct current, overheating and accidental short-circuiting
at the output.
Optimisation
For those not content even with the matchless specifications
of QUBE speakers, the digital controller
further enhance performance, optimising sound, reliability
and flexibility. Indeed the processor has been designed to
allow active optimisation of the already impressive frequency
response through “ad hoc” equalisation of each indi-
vidual speaker, to optimise reliability by protecting woofers
in the same way as drivers, and to process audio signals by
separating the part of the signal directed to the full-range
speakers from that directed to the subwoofers.
By an internal switch all the fullrange passive speakers can
be split into active ways.
High Dynamic Device.
Used on the powered Qube amplifier, the HDD is an integrated
system, comprising a digital processor and two high efficiency
amplifier. The system, very compact and light, trough
a sophisticated equalization and a energy control produce a
clean sound with high dynamic in a safe way. The key features
are:
· Time domain equalization to produce the best
frequency and phase response;
· Built-in crossover is designed for the minimum driver
interference and the best polar response;
· Excursion control to avoid the woofer exceed allowed
displacement;
· Energy control to keep the driver operating in a safe
working area;
· High efficiency, high peak power PWM amplifier for the
LW woofer;
· High efficiency class G amplifier for the HW
compression driver;
· Remote control possibility trough a computer, via a
dedicated program software and a computer, allowing
the preset can be locked into memory to meet the
challenging acoustics of any venue. Curve preset and
fine adjustment through equalization 4 par. Eq. and
delay control (manual mode with DIP switch).
Monitoring of the system status (speakers check,
volume control, input sensitivity selection, output level
monitoring overload or equalizer overload, on/off
command), monitoring of the input;
· 8 default presets
These presets have been made to give to the speakers
the best performances at different applications.
All the speakers are eprovided with the following
default presets :Floor, Low Extension, HF
Compensation, Array. The Q 110A, because of its
monitor design, have also a Stage Monitor preset to
be insert when it is used as floor monitor.
These presets make a frequency response correction:
1. to compensate the bass frequency energy boost
2. to extend the frequency response in the low range
to compensate the lack of a subwoofer at moderate
SPL level
3. to compensate the high frequency attenuation
due to the air in a “ far-field” situation.
4. to assemble two speakers in array configuration
increasing the SPL and the coverage.
· On/Off sub connection
The powered speakers is the latest addition to complete the Qube line; by the use of HHD module ( Class D "PWM" amplifier; incorporated
digital DSP; Control Remote System Supervision), the speakers are tailored for a wide range of touring and installed sound reinforcement
applications.
The full range speakers can be switched into two way bi amp by moving a selector located on the back plate.
SPEAKERS
The Qube Q 208 was designed to be the perfect travelling companion for professional musicians:
compact, lightweight and easy to handle. Yet despite its small size, it lacks nothing in
power. The exclusive slimline shape gives astonishing results from such a small enclosure,
putting it in the same performance league as systems with dimensions and costs 2 or even 3
times as much. The WTW configuration comprising a high frequency 1” driver and horn positioned
between two 8” woofers gives a sound comparable to that from a single source, benefiting
from the presence and definition typical of coaxial systems. The result is an extremely flat
frequency response, without colouring between 65Hz and 18 kHz. Covering a horizontal angle
of 80°, the QUBE Q 208 is the ideal choice both for permanent installations, for example in pubs
and conference halls, and as portable equipment for professional musicians. On stage, QUBE
Q208 cabinet can also be used as monitors.
SPEAKERS
The QM 115 is a full range loudspeaker with a built
in passive filter that, as in all Qube passive
speakers, can be switched into two ways bi amp
cabinet. The coaxial titanium 2” driver and the 15”
LF speaker use separated magnets. The coax driving
system is quite close to one point source; this
configuration creates a very compact drive assemble
that allows to use a compact low profile cabinet.
The result is a monitor with a vocal presence and
clarity, balanced sound and feedback stability. The
QM 115M is capable of high sound pressure. The
monitor is made from 18 mm. Baltic birch wood has
and scratch resistant paint finishing. The shape of
the cabinet allows to assemble the speaker in different
arrays as drum fill coupled with QS 118 or QS
115 subwoofers or side fill coupling two cabinets.
The front of the monitor is protected by a metal
LINE ARRAY
The QSA-210 is a two way passive line array
speaker. Two 10” neodymium loudspeakers, two 1”
neodymium drivers handle a power of 500 watts.
Easy to use, the new Qube Line Array is made, as
well as all Qube products, in cooperation with
Renkus-Heinz R&D team.
The system is based on a totally new radical technology:
the Isophasic Plane Wave Generator. By the
use of a true acoustical lens in the hornsection loaded
by two 1" high-compression neodymium drivers,
the result is a line shaped source evenly distributed
within the cabinet as well as within the line
array. It allows high power and precise line array
performance to be generated from a column of biamped
(minimum 6 speakers)cabinets just 60 cm
wide making it perfect for medium-sized tours and
installations in venues such as theatres. The Qube
series is fully compatible, electronically and acoustically, with the QSA-210, which can be used to partner it
with sidefills, downfills and sub-bass cabinets.
The cabinet is designed for extremely quick set-up and the included twopoint flying hardware admits two different
settings (0° and 5°) for straight line array as well as curved clustering. The express-bar is designed
to enable firm fly mount as well as ground-stacking.
The SP 26 is a digital signal processing controller programmed to optimise the performances of the total
system.
BRK
The QUBE BRK is a trapezoidal shaped full range horn loudspeaker enclosure
equipped with doublet 15” (LF), 10” (MF) in a coaxial construction with
a 2” (HF) driver. The 2”-driver is fed into a Renkus-Heinz® CBH2000-6 horn,
which gives a well balanced frequency response throughout the field of (HxV
- 60 x 40) coverage. Due to the coaxial design between the 10” and 2”, the
sound is produced from a one-point source within the vocal field of frequencies,
which greatly adds to clarity and transparency of the sound and
reduces problems with lobing and comb filtering effects. The extremely high
sensibility (106 dB 1W/1m) enables high power handling and efficient amplifier
utilization, and gives the loudspeaker capability of delivering sound
pressure levels at 133 dB (RMS) and up to 137 dB (peak). The loudspeaker
will in total handle 2760W (2x15” 2000W, 10” 600W, 2” 160W) of power.
This touring specified enclosure is constructed in durable 13-layer birch
plywood and heavily braced for extra stabilization.
The cabinet comes as standard equipped with extra-reinforced flying
hardware that runs from top to bottom as well as heavy-duty handles for
easy rigging and stacking. The cabinet is painted in durable black paint.
18” subwoofer and due to the identical sizes of the cabinets, the handling and
rigging for the loudspeaker system is extremely easy and well balanced.
RUT
The QUBE RUT is just like the QUBE BRK a trapezoidal in shape and offers
a horn-loaded subwoofer construction with doublet 18” that is capable of a
solid sub frequency response from 32 to 150Hz. The horn construction is a
7th order band pass design and due to its excellent transient response able
of delivering high definition sub frequencies with an extreme “tight” sound.
The dual 18” woofers can handle 2800W (2 ohm) and will produce sound
pressure levels up 132 dB continues and 137 dB peak.
This touring specified enclosure is constructed in durable 13-layer birch
plywood and heavily braced for extra stabilization and resonance cancellation.
The cabinet is as standard equipped with heavy duty handles for easy
rigging and stacking. The cabinet is painted in durable polyurethane black
paint. The size and sound of the QUBE RUT is carefully matched with QUBE
BRK in order to simplify handling and enhance over all capabilities for the
system.
SP 22 D - SP 22 Ds
SP22 D
DIGITAL CONTROLLERS
SP22 is a 2-in/2-out digital signal processor (DSP) designed to optimise the performance of all loudspeakers in the QUBE
range.
Model SP 22 are easily installed in the rear panel of a QUBE amplifier, or it can be rack-mounted when using other power
amplifiers (in this case the HCR 12/22 adapter is used to install two SP22 modules). The SP 22 digital control unit have
been projected to control speaker (SP 22D) and woofer(SP 22Ds) cabinets. Model SP 22D is designed for use with 2-way
full-range speakers (Q106, Q208, Q110, Q112, Q115, QM115); model SP 22Ds is designed for use with subwoofers (QS112,
QS115, QS118, QS218).
The main characteristics are as follows:
• Frequency range equalisation to optimise frequency response and power response.
• High precision control of power delivered to loudspeakers by means of an amplifier output sensing function.
• Woofer excursion control
• High pass filter
• Fast rolloff crossovers (steep slope)
• Delays on both channels to compensate for vertical misalignment
• General delay on both channels from 0.25 m to 64 m.
• 4 configuration modes: stereo/biamp/bridge/parallel
• 2 XLR inputs
• 2 parallel XLR outputs
• 8 dipswitches to change the delay on both channels
• 4-position selector for 4 configuration modes: stereo/biamp/bridge/parallel
• 1 dipswitch (1) for SUB/PHASE selection: SUB mode activates the high pass filter when SP 22 is utilised to control
a satellite; for the model SP 22Ds PHASE mode inverts the phase (180deg. rotation) on the subwoofer
• 3 dipswitches (2/3/4) to select cabinet model (8 models)
