The War to End All Wars: The Great World War I<br />

The Allies held out little hope of victory while an American president<br />

pledged neutrality and commanded an under-equipped, undermanned<br />

and untrained army. But, the Americans arrived and<br />

courageously faced a highly-trained and professional opposing<br />

army. Understand how they turned the tide of the war and assured<br />

victory in the decisive battles of “The Great War.”<br />

Art in the Paleolithic<br />

Forty thousand years before Picasso and Michelangelo, early<br />

humans began creating works of art inspired by the natural world<br />

using materials abundant in the environment, such as bones from<br />

hunted animals, worked stone, and mineral pigments. This course<br />

examines the famous cave paintings of France, handheld Venus<br />

figurines and current archaeological interpretations.<br />
