Young Parent Program for Pregnant or Parenting<br />

Teens<br />

Provides pregnant or parenting teens with information about<br />

pregnancy, birth, parenting and community resources. Open<br />

to District 728 students and area residents who may not be in<br />

school. For more information or to register contact ECFE at 763<br />

241-3524 or contact the school counselor, school nurse or Ivan<br />

Sand Community School. Home visits are also available. Cosponsored<br />

by District 728 Ivan Sand Community School and ECFE.<br />

Classes are held at Handke Center in the ECFE Rooms. Use<br />

Door 6. Classes are on going during the school year. No fee. Call<br />

the ECFE/SR office at 763-241-3524 for information on days and<br />

times. Special events funding provided by Three Rivers Community<br />

Foundation.<br />

Parenting Apart<br />

A program to help minimize the negative impact of parenting<br />

apart and/or divorce on children birth to age 18 at a time when<br />

parents are naturally preoccupied with their own adjustments.<br />

Jointly presented by a variety of Sherburne County agencies and<br />

professionals. Classes are held each month. Scholarships available<br />

on request. For registration information, call 763-241-3524 or<br />

register online at www.728communityed.com. Check the course<br />

catalog for Parenting Apart.<br />

BIG... building better behaviors for success in<br />

school, childcare & at home<br />

BIG is an intervention and prevention program for preschoolers<br />

who are at risk of losing their childcare or preschool placement<br />

because of negative behaviors. BIG works with parents, teachers<br />

and childcare providers as a team to build positive behavior skills.<br />

BIG is a behavior intervention group including educators, emotional<br />

health professionals and specialists to coordinate expertise and<br />

resources for success. If you are interested in BIG please call the<br />

ECFE office at 763-241-3524 for further information. BIG is funded<br />

by ISD 728 Family & Children’s Collaborative, a part of Wright<br />

County Family Services Collaborative.<br />

turning 4 years old prior to September 1, 2013.<br />

“ ECFE On Wheels” Home Visits<br />

A program that comes to you and is designed “just for you.” The<br />

program features visits to your home (or one to one visits at the<br />

ECFE center). Visits provide ideas for creative, fun, age appropriate<br />

activities, as well as time to discuss questions on kids and family.<br />

Information and ideas on child development, parenting and<br />

community resources are also available. Call the ECFE office at<br />

241-3524. There is no fee for home visits.<br />

Single Parents—Short Term, Long Term -<br />

Whatever the reason!<br />

A group for families living in ISD 728 where parents are parenting<br />

alone. Military families, families parenting alone due to work<br />

situations, families experiencing separation, divorce, loss of<br />

spouse or single parenting—all are welcome to attend! Bring your<br />

children and enjoy a meal together. Parents will meet together for<br />

parenting support and information. Young children will participate in<br />

early childhood activities, school age children will meet in another<br />

classroom together for activities and support. Join at any time. To<br />

register or for more information, call the ECFE/SR office at 763-241-<br />

3524.<br />
