Raiders to Iwo Jima with Marshall Harris
On this date in 1942, Doolittle’s Raiders bombed Tokyo. Join us
for a discussion and slide presentation with Marshall Harris, U.S.
Marine Corps WWII Veteran, as he touches on Doolittle’s Raiders
from a historical standpoint, and his experiences at Saipan, Tinian
and Iwo Jima.

Navigator
Bob Clemens was a Navigator on a B-17 crew during WWII based
out of Foggia, Italy. He flew 50 missions from Jun 16 through Sep
12, 1944 to Germany, Austria, Budapest, Hungary, and Ploesti,
Romania. Join us to hear his amazing story.

NEW! WWII: The Early Years 1933-1943
Join us for an in-depth look at the rise of the Nazi Party and the
Japanese Empire in the years prior to America’s involvement in
World War II. Each week we will view a documentary and follow it
with a group discussion. We’ll cover the fall of France, the Battle of
Britain, the fall of Singapore; and the opposition to U.S. involvement
in the war. Classes take place at Sandburg Learning Center, 6400
Sandburg Road, Golden Valley in Partnership with the University of
Minnesota’s O.L.L.I. program and the Robbinsdale CE program.

Couponing 101
Are you interested in saving money? Join us as we learn the basics
of couponing: how to shop area grocery retailers, where to find
coupons, how to use coupons correctly and how to use the coupon
data base. Learn ways to save money and find good deals.

Dog Obedience, Basic
Learn the basics of on-leash obedience, including commands such
as heel, sit, down, come, stand and stay. Handlers will learn to give
commands and use praise to reward proper behavior. Fee is per
dog. Puppies must be at least three months old and have begun
their shot series. Bring a leash and dog treats.

Dog Obedience, Intermediate
Continue where the Basic Dog Obedience class left off with
off-leash work and introducing several new exercises: the drop
on recall, the retrieve and basic jumping. Basic exercises will be
reviewed. Puppies must be 3+ months old and have begun their
shot series. Bring a collar, six-foot leather leash and a retrieving
dumbbell.

Help Me Grow! Autism 101
April is National Autism Awareness Month. In an effort to increase
community awareness, the Help Me Grow program is hosting an
Autism 101 discussion that will cover introductory topics related to
Autism Spectrum Disorders including an overview of the disorders,
early identification signs and types of early interventions. Bring your
questions.
