Prelim<strong>in</strong>ary estimati<strong>on</strong>s show that <strong>the</strong> heights <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>the</strong> barriers for <strong>the</strong> asymmetric and symmetric<br />

fissi<strong>on</strong>s as well as <strong>the</strong> competiti<strong>on</strong> between asymmetric and symmetric fissi<strong>on</strong> channels and <strong>the</strong><br />

properties <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> charge, mass, energetic distributi<strong>on</strong>s <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>the</strong> fissi<strong>on</strong> products are reproduced <strong>in</strong> this<br />

approach. The sp<strong>on</strong>taneous fissi<strong>on</strong> process could be c<strong>on</strong>sidered as a tunnel<strong>in</strong>g process <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

mass asymmetry degree <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> freedom η. The role <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> diffusi<strong>on</strong> and fricti<strong>on</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> tunnel<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> η<br />

for <strong>the</strong> d<strong>in</strong>uclear system could be c<strong>on</strong>sidered us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> L<strong>in</strong>dblad axiomatic approach for open<br />

quantum systems [123, 124]. Changes <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> deformati<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>the</strong> <strong>nuclei</strong> dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> tunnel<strong>in</strong>g<br />

process could also be taken <strong>in</strong>to account. The <strong>nuclei</strong> Fm and Cf are especially attractive for<br />

this study.<br />

Us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> structural forbiddenness c<strong>on</strong>cept [63], we could study <strong>the</strong> h<strong>in</strong>drances for <strong>the</strong><br />

fragmentati<strong>on</strong> process <strong>in</strong> λ and η degrees <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> freedom. The comparis<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>the</strong> calculated energy<br />

thresholds (fissi<strong>on</strong> barriers) for <strong>the</strong> fissi<strong>on</strong> <strong>in</strong> λ and η variables could provide <strong>the</strong> answer about<br />

<strong>the</strong> favorable fissi<strong>on</strong> path.<br />
