With the exception of the Grand Slams and the WTA Championships, the<br />

Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions and the WTA Premier Mandatory<br />

events, all singles and doubles 1 st round losers in Tournaments with prize money of<br />

$25,000 or greater receive one (1) Round Point regardless of draw size.<br />

For the purposes of awarding Ranking Points, in all <strong>ITF</strong> Tournaments with prize<br />

money of $50,000 or greater, the round of 32 will be considered to be the first round<br />

of Qualifying and all Rules will apply as if that were the first round of play. In these<br />

<strong>ITF</strong> Tournaments, the WTA will only award Round Points in Qualifying starting in<br />

the Round of 32 and play in any round prior to the round of 32 will not be<br />

considered as having taken place for ranking purposes.<br />

computer rankings, refer to the WTA Official Rule Book.<br />

3. $50,000/$75,000/$100,000 PLUS HOSPITALITY<br />

Tournaments with $50,000, $75,000 or $100,000 in prize money which offer<br />

hospitality will receive increased WTA ranking points.<br />

Hospitality is defined as one complimentary room for the use of each player<br />

accepted into the singles and doubles Main Draws. Rooms are to be available to<br />

each singles player for a minimum of four (4) nights beginning no earlier than the<br />

day prior to the start of Main Draw and no later than the day the Main Draw starts.<br />

Accommodation continues through to include the night that she plays her last match<br />

or until her four (4) night minimum has been provided, whichever is later.<br />

Rooms for doubles players must be available beginning the day of the sign in for a<br />

minimum of two (2) nights. Accommodation continues through to include the night<br />

of the player’s last match or until the two (2) nights minimum has been provided.<br />

Successful Qualifiers must be afforded the same accommodations as Main Draw<br />

players. Nights spent in accommodation during Qualifying shall count towards the<br />

minimum number of nights to which Main Craw players are entitled.<br />

Players receive appropriate points on the Computer for the last 3 rounds of<br />

Qualifying and the Main Draw and credit for one tournament played.<br />

4. GENERAL RULES<br />

Singles and Doubles<br />

Rankings - Players are ranked on the basis of their total points.<br />

<strong>Pro</strong>cessing of Rankings – WTA tournaments (Premier Mandatory through<br />

International) plus <strong>ITF</strong> $100,000, $75,000 and $50,000 tournaments (as long as<br />

completed by the Sunday of that week) are processed on a weekly basis. <strong>ITF</strong><br />

$10,000 through $25,000 tournaments are processed a minimum of one (1) week<br />

following the completion of the Tournament. Points stay valid for fifty-two (52)<br />

weeks from the week in which a Tournament is included in the Ranking Totals.<br />
