13. CONDITIONS OF PLAY<br />
a) Warm-up<br />
The warm-up shall not exceed five minutes.<br />
b) Match Format<br />
All singles matches shall be the best of three tie-break sets, unless otherwise<br />
approved by the <strong>ITF</strong>.<br />
In each doubles match, No-Ad scoring shall be used throughout the match<br />
and when the score is one set all, one match Tie-Break game (10 points) shall<br />
be played to decide the match.<br />
c) Continuous Play<br />
Play shall be continuous under the terms of Rule 29 of the Rules of Tennis.<br />
No rest is allowed after the second set in a three set match.<br />
d) Ball Change<br />
The balls to be used at <strong>ITF</strong> Women’s <strong>Circuit</strong> tournaments must conform to<br />
the specifications in Rule 3 of the Rules of Tennis and must have been<br />
approved by the <strong>ITF</strong>. Any Women’s <strong>Circuit</strong> tournament must apply to the<br />
<strong>ITF</strong> Executive Director of Fed Cup & Women’s Tennis for approval at least<br />
three (3) months in advance of the tournament if it wishes to use BALL<br />
TYPES 1 or 3.<br />
In the Qualifying, a minimum of four (4) new balls are to be provided for the<br />
first and third sets of a match. In the Main Draw, a minimum of four (4) balls<br />
are to be changed at a maximum of eleven (11) games and thereafter every<br />
thirteen (13) games in each match. At $50,000, $75,000 and $100,000<br />
tournaments in the Qualifying and the Main Draw, the ball change shall be<br />
after the first nine (9) games and thereafter every eleven (11) games in each<br />
match. More frequent ball changes are acceptable at the discretion of the <strong>ITF</strong><br />
Supervisor.<br />
e) Rest<br />
If circumstances dictate that a player is scheduled for more than one match<br />
per day, then she shall, unless she is in both the Singles and Doubles finals to<br />
be played consecutively, be given the following minimum rest period:-<br />
i) if played less than 1 hour - ½ hour rest<br />
ii) if played between 1 and 1½ hours - 1 hour rest<br />
iii) if played more than 1½ hours - 1 ½ hours rest<br />
If a player is involved in the Singles and Doubles final she shall be allowed a<br />
rest period of one half hour. Player may play before the end of the rest period<br />
if all participants are in agreement.<br />
