2005: In the US 1.6 million businesses engage in barter transactions<br />

totalling $31 billion.<br />

2006: A 'chaordic' alliance among international corporations uses a<br />

standardised Global Reference Currency called the Terra, which<br />

includes a demurrage feature.<br />

2007: 20% of all US retail trade has been displaced towards the Net,<br />

other cyber- active countries are following the same trend (similar to<br />

but much faster man the post-war spread of US-style supermarkets<br />

and mall distribution systems around the world).<br />

2015: Global Reference Currency becomes an optional legal<br />

accounting standard for multinational corporations.<br />

2020: The cyber economy has become the largest economy in the<br />

world, private business scrip (including Terra) is involved in 50% of<br />

all international trade.<br />

2 Three multinational currencies<br />

After the euro replaced the national currencies in eleven European<br />

countries in 1999, the British and other European holdouts joined the<br />

system a few years later. This built up an irresistible pressure to<br />

create an Asian Yuan Currency zone, and finally a NAFTA dollar. It<br />
