Determination of Zygomycetes Protein (Biuret Method) A simple, highly selective and rapid analyze for determination of zygomycetes protein based on the Biuret method in the ultraviolet region has been developed. This method can be used for determination of total protein. In the present approach, the Biuret assay is based on the reaction of proteins with copper ions under alkaline conditions to form a copper–protein complex at 540 nm was investigated. The standard curve of absorbance versus zygomycetes protein concentration is shown in Figure 31. Furthermore related calculation for percentage of zygomycetes protein is presented as follow.
